It has been a long time since I’ve managed an art gallery website!
Managing my own art gallery presents a number of challenges — which I’m rediscovering all over again! But having complete control over my content and the way I present it, are very big advantages that have drawn me to website ownership, ever since I made my first scribbles.
The last time I attempted to manage a website of my own — more or less — was during my Tumblr era. I had three Tumblr blogs, but the largest one was called Honey☆Kiss, and the domain hime.cc was pointed at that Tumblr.
I posted my erotic “cub” arts at Honey☆Kiss. “Cub porn” is questionable to be sure, but I didn’t suspect this type of content was against the terms of service at Tumblr — I try my best to follow the rules, in a very minor part because I’m not a hopeless case, but mostly because it makes my life easier in the long run.
On September 16th, 2016, I suddenly learned that my long-running Tumblr had been violating the terms of service all along. And without a warning, it was terminated.
Almost four years after Honey☆Kiss was destroyed, I am bringing it back. The aim is to build it bigger, better, badder than ever, of course! And this new version is certainly different.
For starters, Honey☆Kiss 2.0 is being built on a WordPress platform. This platform and hosting plan take care of a bunch of the grittier aspects of website management. Which makes my job easier — in theory. My webhost has assured me that my content is allowed, so that is extra assurance that we are building on solid ground!
Another reason (the main reason?) that has tipped the scales in favor of this platform is the fact that I can now host subscriber content! Users who are supporting me on SubscribeStar (thank you very much!) are now able to quickly access their subscriber rewards.
As of right now, the core of the template has been hacked into submission, and hopefully the coding for the subscription features will work. More art, including subscriber rewards, will continue to be uploaded. Honey☆Kiss is rising from the ashes, after almost four years!
And for this, I thank all the people who enjoy my art. Thank you for encouraging me, thank you for supporting me, and please enjoy the naughty pictures!
