June 9th: FUNDS CLEARED, and TABLET PURCHASED! Once again, thank you very much some-dude! ♥
In the end, almost 90 bucks were deducted in processing and transfer fees! A big chunk, to be sure, but Poni was still able to purchase the tablet. What to do with the old one? Poni wonders.
Thank you very very VERY much to all who contributed, with special thanks to Xial, and a BIG thank you to some-dude!
Poni shouldn’t complain about the fees he’s charged by the services he uses, nei. To be very fair, if these services were not provided for Poni, Poni would starve. TT
Still, though, Poni feels like he needs to inform you why Poni receives far less money than his totals suggest.
As you can see in exhibit A, Poni received a few donations for his tablet fund! And as you can see by adding the “paid” column, the donations total $398.00 — thank you! ♪
However, after the “you received money!” fee was discounted, only $356.44 was credited to his account — a deduction of $41.56, or a bit over 10%…
Poni had a small balance to his name, because subscriptions — thank you! ♪ As you can see, for every $5 subscription, Poni gets credited $4.14, so that’s a deduction of 17.2%…
Poni estimates he receved 18 subscriptions, which should be $90! ♪ But because fees, Poni gets credited $74.52 — a deduction of $15.48
Adding $356.44 and $74.52, comes to $430.96. In the end, the “transferable balance” came up to $431.00 — the website mentions “rounding up to around $1.00”.
But don’t worry about the house, since it never loses! The 4 pennies came from another subscription which cleared in the time that it took to process my transfer, hah.
So, by now, Poni has paid $41.56 + $15.48 in fees — $57.04
In other words, Poni’s wonderful fans had sent Poni $488 in donations and subscriptions! ♥ But from that total, Poni will receive only $431.00
No matter. “Please send Poni his $431.00, thanks!”
“Sure, Poni, but there’s a $14.00 fee for that.”
Poni ends up receiving $417.00 in his Skrill account. Yay.
(Poni had a $3.33 balance on Skrill, because Poni added a bank card, and Poni made a small deposit to link them, hah. Time to get it out of there as well! As for the extra penny… Poni has no idea where that came from!)
“Poni, there’s a $6.71 fee for bank transfer.”
“There’s also a crap exchange rate that we’re gonna use, you have no choice, you have to accept it.”
So, that $413.63 transfer Poni turns into 1548.38 PEN.
Of course, the current exchange rate is actually 1:3.90, and NOT the 1:3.7438 that Skrill uses…
So, in effect, 1548.38 PEN is actually $397.02
Long story short.
- How it started: $488.00
- How it ended: $397.02
All fees and deductions applied to Poni’s $488 come to: $90.98, or 18.64344%
If that seems kind of high (almost a fifth), that’s because it is!
Anyway, so you know how it all worked out. Soon, tablet pictures! Poni utterly grateful to all the wonderful people who contribute to Poni! ♥
Blissfully, the money got to Poni’s account very quickly! And Poni wasted no time in putting it to good use.
Poni was told that his tablet will be delivered tomorrow, June 10th. Fingers crossed!
Will be posting updates on tablet get, asap! ♪
